Investing in Our Future

Building brighter futures takes active community support. And that’s where corporate and foundation funders and community partners play a critical role in out-of-school time success.

The Excel Beyond the Bell Funders Network aligns and leverages public-private funding that increases the capacity, accessibility, and affordability of Montgomery County out-of-school time programs. Our job is to make sure sufficient resources get to where they are needed.

The Collaboration Council and the Montgomery County Community Foundation have formed a partnership to boost local private investment to increase direct services, support Excel Beyond the Bell professional and organizational development, and enhance accountability efforts that yield high-quality programs and good outcomes for our youth.

In its planning stages, the Excel Beyond the Bell Funders Network will include:

• An Excel Beyond the Bell Innovations Fund where donors can contribute funds that will be combined and granted out through the MCCF to meet priority needs, especially in our most vulnerable communities. (First funding cycle planned for Fall 2009).
  
  
• Portfolio of Out-of-School Time Provider Organizations identified as intentionally working toward high quality and are organizationally sound to which donors can contribute directly.
  
  
• Also, the Collaboration Council is a 501c3 nonprofit organization and thus can receive donations to support Excel Beyond the Bell strategies across all goals in the Action Agenda.
